This spring, Toledo Volleyball Club will welcome Jessica Hohl, a Northwest Ohio native, to the TVC administrative staff as a full-time Associate Director beginning March 4, 2018. Jess will replace Sydney Antonio and Leeanne Gleim, who have served as part-time Co-Associate Directors since June 2015. Hohl attended Anthony Wayne High School and hails from Waterville.

In January, Jess attended Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Coach's Clinic in Coral Gabels, FL at University Of Miami. One of Jess' favorite takeaways was the use of the "mad scientist" white board for practice plans.

Jess has experience with this technique before and feels that when "[Coaches] start using it over and over with kids, they will  learn what drills are and will transition faster in between drills, wasting less time in practice".  Chris McGown,  former head coach for the BYU Men's team was the head clinician at the clinic. Former US Olymic setter, Courtney Thompson, was another speaker Jess found inspiring because she addressed confidence and its effect on performance, a key skill for coaches of female athletes in the club and collegiate ranks.

Prior to accepting the job at TVC, Jess served as an Event Marketing Coordinator at Rox Volleyball in St. Augustine, Florida for the past two and half years.  During that time, she worked with clients to meet their marketing and promotional needs and leveraged sponsorship with clients such as Exclusive Sports Marketing, JVA (2015-2017), Festival Sports, and various beach tours throughout the country. Hohl was the Executive Director of the Rox VB Series, a junior beach volleyball tour that was in over 20 states and had over 5,000 participants last year.

Before making the move to Florida, Jess was an Assistant Coach at Bowling Green State University and came to BGSU in February of 2012  serve on Danijela Tomic's first coaching staff with the Falcons.

In her tenure there, Hohl was part of a program that won just its second MAC Tournament Championship in 2012 and won an NCAA Tournament match for the first time in program history. In 2013, Bowling Green defeated No. 13 BYU – the first win over a ranked opponent in program history.

The program was just 27-36 in the two years prior to the arrival of the new staff but the Falcons have flipped that script by going 36-27 over the last two years, including 23-9 in MAC play. The team has become a determined and tough-minded group, winning 10 consecutive five-set matches at one point, including three in a row during the 2012 postseason run.

Prior to returning to the region, Hohl spent a year as a graduate assistant coach at Arkansas State. The program went 21-10 and won the Sun Belt Conference West Division championship, going undefeated at home. She earmed her Master's Degree in Sports Administration in 2012.

Hohl earned her bachelor's degree in retailing from Michigan State in December of 2007 after leading the Spartans to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2007. She was named Academic All-Big Ten, 2006 Spartan Invitational MVP, 2007 Harvard All Tournament Team, and 11/24 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Hohl also played club volleyball at Toledo Volleyball Club, Premier Academy, and earned AAU All-American while playing club volleyball with Glass City Volleyball Club. Upon graduation from Michigan State, she played professionally for Ok Calcit in Kamnik, Slovenia, where her team was among the final 16 teams vying for the CEV Cup. She also played for CV Miranda in Spain in 2010 and her team placed second in the regular season.

Welcome back to the TVC family, Jess Hohl!
