As many are aware, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation here in the United States is changing rapidly.  There is an increasing number of cases being reported in the world, our nation, and now Ohio.  We have been following this with our governing bodies, the OVR and USAV.  They have been in close contact with the governor and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control)

As of this morning, March 12, here is what we know.   Tournaments in the OVR are still on with the caveat that the only spectators allowed will be the parents of the athletes.  If an event is being held in a public facility that has been closed (University) the event will be canceled.    We have  not received any direction from Lucas County that the LCRC will be closed.   We are taking extra precautions to insure our athletes and visitors are safe including extra cleaning and making sure our hand sanitizers that are in several places around the building are full.  Please bring your own personal sanitizers  as well as our supplier has indicated the the refills are on backorder.

We were notified late last night that the Mid East Qualifier has been canceled.  The Housing Bureau is currently working to cancel all reservations made through the bureau.  If you made reservations outside the block, it is your responsibility to cancel your reservation.

This situation is fluid and changing rapidly.  We will have further information posted here as it is available.  We understand that parents and players will have questions regarding what all of this means for the remainder of the season should the worst case scenario happen.  Please be patient with us as we navigate these unfamiliar waters.

Please follow the best practices for remaining healthy - wash your hands frequently (for 20 seconds with soap and water) and stay away from people who are sick as well as practicing social distancing.  Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.  Avoid sharing food and beverages.  Avoid physical salutations such as handshakes, hugs, fist bumps, etc.  Stay home when you are sick.  Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw away the tissue.  Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Please stay safe and check back here for more information as it is available.

Sincerely,

Michelle Hills, Jason Reilly, Jess Hohl and Michael Varn
