Toledo Volleyball Club is pleased to announced that beginning the 2015-2016 club season, we will be partnering with Dan Jones, owner of EAO Sports, to provide our athletes with high level, sport specific strength training and conditioning in our facility.

Dan is the founder and owner of EAO Sports in Sylvania, Ohio, whose training style has contributed to the success of amateur and professional athletes for over 20 years. A NW Ohio native, Dan is one of the foremost experts in the field of strength and conditioning. As a national championship body builder, he actively studies, lives, and applies the most current sports-specific training methods. He is known for creating a very intense yet positive environment and delivering tangible results.

Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for training that is contagious; phrases like “competitive excellence” and “mental warfare” are a regular part of his vocabulary. Currently the strength and conditioning coach with the Toledo Walleye, Dan also trains St. Johns’ Jesuit graduate and former Ohio State Lineman Jack Mewhort, now playing for the Indianapolis Colts; as well as University of Michigan Lineman, Jack Miller, and current Eastern Michigan quarterback, Brogan Roback.  Veronica Zimmerman, 2011 TVC graduate and current University of Memphis setter and her brother, Mason Zimmerman—Anthony Wayne graduate who recently committed to play football at the University of Maryland—are two more of the many success stories to which Dan has contributed.

Upon hearing about this possible addition to the TVC training program, Doug Zimmerman (Father of Veronica and Mason) added:

“When we were looking for someone to train Mason to get him ready for the University of Maryland football program, Dan Jones came highly recommended.  We are very pleased with the physical and mental changes Mason accomplished working with Dan. He expects hard work and pushes an athlete, but he is also aware of their physical limits and knows when to back off.  Veronica worked out with Dan when she was home on breaks from Memphis. If your daughter wants to become a better athlete, Dan will help her achieve that goal. That HIGH energy you get just from talking to Dan is carried over into his passion to make athletes better, Dan is an excellent addition to the TVC family.”

Clearly, it’s no mystery why athletes and their parents are seeking out Dan and his colleagues at EAO Sports for their expertise and love of training athletes of all levels.  We invite you to come out and meet Dan and the rest of the TVC staff, returning and new, during TVC’s Summer Open House at the end of July, specific date to be determined.
